Java Peafowl Compared to High percentage Spalding Peafowl

A number of folks offer pure 'Rodney Michael Java' or other 'pure' Java Green peafowl for sale.  It is always a really good idea to ask for photos of the bird(s) being offered for sale.  Here are some points to consider when deciding whether or not to buy a 'pure' Java Green of any bloodline.

Below is a comparison photo of a yearling Spalding, 15/16 Java Green, 1/16 India Blue (on left) and pure Java Green (on right).  Note the paler yellow lorus, the difference in the crest, as well as the difference in color and in the scaly quality of the neck feathers in the Spalding even with such a high percentage of Java.
